UPIASI had concluded an agreement in April 1998 with the Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) to be the EF's secretariat in India. UPIASI conducted the selection process for the Eisenhower Fellowships Single Nation Program in 1999-2000, and the Multi-Nation Program in 2001-02. During 2003, UPIASI conducted the selection process of the EF’s first Single Region Program for India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The EF is a world-renowned fellowship foundation. The chairman of the EEF Board at the time of UPIASI’s association with it, was former U.S. Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger. It offered Eisenhower Fellowships for an 8-10 week, individually tailored, coast-to-coast, professional exposure trip to the U.S. for emerging leaders in various fields in the 35-45 age group from a large number of countries around the world.
In 2011, UPIASI again concluded an agreement with the Eisenhower Fellowships to administer the itinerary in India of an Eisenhower Fellow from the United States and carried out the program in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
