Eight soldiers of the Indian Army were trapped in the Siachen Glacier in Ladakh area after being hit by avalanche on Monday. The team was on a patrol when the avalanche hit them around 3 pm. The sources said a search and rescue operation has been launched to locate the team. Avalanches and landslides are common at the glacier during the winters.
The Shiv Sena's wait to form a government in Maharashtra is not likely to end anytime soon. NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who met Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday, refused to comment on the issue of extending support to the Shiv Sena and said "government formation was not discussed in our meeting." However, after the meeting, both the parties made it clear that they needed further discussions on the issue.
