CASI in the News
Milan Vaishnav (Associate, South Asia Program, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace) and Neelanjan Sircar (CASI Postdoctoral Research Fellow) co-authored "Unsafe After Sunset" in the February 27, 2015 issue of The Hindu. This is the final of four articles published by The Hindu between December 2014 and February 2015 on the findings from the latest round of the Lok Surveys, on aspirations and anxieties of ordinary Indians. The Lok Surveys are part of a larger CASI research project on urbanization and social change sponsored by the Lok Foundation. The Lok Surveys aim to track the attitudes of Indians over the next several years, as part of a significant new effort to understand the social and political reconfigurations taking place across India today.

In this issue of India in Transition, Arndt Michael, Senior Lecturer, Department of Political Science, University of Freiburg, Germany, examines patterns of multilateral cooperation in South Asia and beyond, and argues that there are specific deficiencies which must be overcome before meaningful cooperation can take place.
