In this issue of India in Transition, Eswaran Sridharan, Academic Director and Chief Executive, UPIASI, examines how fund flow to political parties, the 2017 Indian presidential election, the composition of the Rajya Sabha by 2019, and the prospects for the BJP will all play out prior to the 2019 general election.
CASI Student Programs
CASI is delighted to announce Alice Gerow C’17 has been selected as the 2017-18 Sobti Family Fellow. Alice will be working with Jana Urban Services for Transformation, an urban inclusion think tank in Bangalore, in parallel with Jana Small Finance Bank to conduct an independent research project.
The 2017 CASI summer interns started their internships this week. On May 21, they were welcomed by the Penn Club of Delhi for an ice cream and pizza social before meeting the incoming class of 2021, Penn alumni, and UPIASI staff. CASI Welcomes Spring 2017 Visiting Scholar, Mekhala Krishnamurthy
Mekhala Krishnamurthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Shiv Nadar University. She is a former CASI Non-Resident Visiting Scholar and CASI Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2010-12).
