In this issue of India in Transition, Manjeet S. Pardesi (Victoria University of Wellington) argues that Asia’s past points toward an inter-regional, pluralist, and multiplex world order instead of a Sinocentric or a core-periphery world order.

Devesh Kapur (CASI Director, 2006-18; Senior Fellow, 2018-23), Milan Vaishnav (CEIP; CASI Non-Resident Visiting Fellow), and Sumitra Badrinathan (American University; CASI Sobti Fellow, 2020-21) took part in an October 31, 2024 CEIP webinar, "Deciphering the Indian American Vote." The webinar covered their co-authored October 28, 2024 CEIP Report, "Indian Americans at the Ballot Box: Results From the 2024 Indian American Attitudes Survey."

On October 24, 2024, Sudev Sheth (Senior Lecturer, History, The Lauder Institute) presented his new book, Bankrolling Empire: Family Fortunes and Political Transformation in Mughal India (CUP, 2024) at a symposium at Penn, along with discussants Divya Cherian (Princeton University), Michael S. Dodson (Indiana University), and Gautam Nair (Harvard Kennedy School; 2019-20 CASI Visiting Dissertation Fellow) and moderator Lisa Mitchell (Penn).
