Gautam Nair is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He was previously a CASI Non-Resident Visiting Scholar, CASI Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and CASI Visiting Dissertation Fellow, respectively. His research is in comparative and international political economy, with a focus on the political economy of inequality, redistribution, and democracy. He has published in The Journal of Politics and International Organization, among other journals. While at CASI, Gautam worked on two related streams of research. The first studied the role of business in shaping distributive politics in developing democracies. The second examined the causes and consequences of the growth of the right in India. He earned his Ph.D. in political science at Yale University.
