Deepaboli Chatterjee

CASI is pleased to announce Deepaboli Chatterjee as a CASI Sobti Doctoral Fellow for the 2024-25 academic year.
Deepaboli is a rising third-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research investigates how the political behavior of religious minorities in India is affected by majoritarian politics. She employs a mixed-methods approach with qualitative interviews, surveys, and experiments to understand the daily lives and collective actions of Indian Muslims.
Prior to starting her Ph.D., she worked on projects on urban transitions with CASI, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Oxford while based at the Centre for Policy Research (CPR) in India. She holds a Master's in Statistics from London School of Economics and a Bachelor's in Economics from University of Delhi.
