Vaishak Kumar, C'16, has been named a recipient of Penn's 2016 President’s Engagement Prize. Kumar's project in agriculture extension (being mentored by CASI Director, Devesh Kapur) will utilize cost-efficient technology and novel research to help farmers in India boost their productivity.
Samanth Subramanian, Writer & Journalist, and CASI Spring 2016 Visiting Fellow, published the book review "The End of Karma, by Somini Sengupta" and "The Indian Spy Who Fell for Tibet" in the March 18, 2016 and March 16, 2016 issues of The New York Times, respectively.
