Join the University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India (UPIASI), Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI), Penn Global, and Penn Alumni for a one-hour virtual conversation with Dr. Eswaran Sridharan, Academic Director and Chief Executive of the University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India (UPIASI), rooted in his extensive research on electoral politics in India.
Co-moderated by Dr. Tariq Thachil, Director of the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI), Associate Professor of Political Science and Madan Lal Sobti Associate Professor for the Study of Contemporary India, and Ramanan Raghavendran, Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania and Chair of the Governing Council, UPIASI, the main thrust of the discussion centers around electoral trends and party systems, covering the 2019 elections, rise of Modi, and of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
This discussion also provides an opportunity to learn more about UPIASI, CASI’s counterpart institution based in Delhi, with a strong and growing research program led by Dr. Sridharan.
