CASI IAB Member Ramanan Raghavendran, the newly-elected Chair of Penn's Board of Trustees, was interviewed in a recent issue of The Pennsylvania Gazette, in which he discussed his agenda "to bridge gaps and bring people together and remind us of our purpose—treasuring academic freedom, yet ensuring that our discourses are civil, and no one is afraid."
CASI Non-Resident Visiting Scholar Milan Vaishnav (Senior Fellow & Director, South Asia Program, CEIP) co-authored, along with Caroline Mallory, "A Guide to India’s 2024 Elections," a March 2024 report by Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
CASI Job Opening: Administrative Coordinator
CASI seeks an administrative coordinator to perform complex and confidential administrative and coordination functions for all aspects of the Center. This position requires a candidate possessing the ability to work effectively and professionally with CASI's director and staff, SAS, the University, and external partners. The successful candidate should have the ability and desire to add value to all of the Center's major programs. They should clearly demonstrate attention to detail, highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to comply with University policies. Holden Furber Undergraduate Writing Prize
Awarded annually for the best undergraduate essay on any topic related to South Asia. The award will be for $300 and competition is open to all students of the University of Pennsylvania. There is no set number of pages or format for submissions. Writings may be prose, poetry, research, or scientific papers as long as the subject involves South Asia.
