CASI in the News


The December 29, 2012 issue of Economic & Political Weekly focused on a Review of Rural Affairs (RRA). The Editorial Advisory Group overseeing the preparation of this biannual review included past CASI Visiting Scholar and Director of Research and founding member of Samaj Pragati Sahayog (SPS), P. S. Vijay Shankar. This issue of the RRA, focusing on agricultural commodities, was guest-edited by Mr. Shankar and CASI Non-Resident Visiting Scholar, Mekhala Krishnamurthy.

"Understanding Agricultural Commodity Markets" was co-authored by Mr. Shankar and Dr. Krishnamurthy.

"States of Wheat: The Changing Dynamics of Public Procurement in Madhya Pradesh" was authored by Dr. Krishnamurthy.

Hindi Lecturer Position Available at Penn

The Lauder Institute and the Department of South Asia Studies at the University of Pennsylvania invite applications for a full-time appointment as Lecturer in Hindi. The appointment will begin in August 2013 and includes three courses per semester.
