Makeda Barr-Brown is a 2019 Penn graduate with a B.A. in International Relations and minors in Africana Studies, Cinema and Media Studies, and History. Prior to becoming Administrative Coordinator, she served as a 2018 CASI intern with LEAP Skills Academy in New Delhi, CASI’s Student Programs Assistant, and as a Projects Assistant. She has also worked at PENNCAP and The Netter Center as a student.
Makeda has done research on South African Politics, specifically on South African presidential human rights rhetoric, but has also done work on globalization and corruption in Mongolia and BRICS nations. While at Penn, she was involved with the film community through Bent Button Productions, as well as The F-Word and Impact magazines.
