Laura Iwanyk began her role as Assistant Director of Student Programs and Outreach in January 2019. Prior to joining CASI, she worked at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, where she helped construct and coordinate the summer internship program. More recently, she worked on the Museum’s Middle East Galleries Project. During this time, she organized curatorial and collections work for the permanent display of more than 1,600 objects from the Ancient Near East.
Between positions at the Penn Museum, Laura completed an internship with Sambhali Trust, a nonprofit women’s empowerment organization in Rajasthan, India. She has also conducted archaeological fieldwork in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Israel. She is passionate about history, culture, and travel, and greatly looks forward to giving Penn students an opportunity to experience the excitement of living abroad.
Laura graduated from Haverford College in 2012, where she studied Archaeology and English. In 2018, she received her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, along with a Certificate in Nonprofit Administration.
